Skinny Carleone is out Washington D.C. and he brings us his compilation entitled “The Houze Of Reprezentativez” on 48th/49th Street Records. The album features Slyck, Poppa LQ, The Regime, The Royal Family, Byno Buck, SoulTrojan, Relentelezz Dre, and many more.

Going into this album everything is pretty much new from the artists to the sound, the album kicks off with Slyck on the intro, he starts off with a introduction but after that says fuck it and starts ripping it, beat is just real triumphant and grimy, Slyck got a real hard flow sounds like south meets a more lyrical flow, shits nice. He splits the track into two, changes the beat and slows it down, its cool rather he would of made a full track out that first beat. Slim Goines on the next track “Executioners Song” the beat has like some country guitar in the background but the other instruments in this song kind of overshadow it. Slim flows real slow, its kind of boring, he has some good lyrics but nothing about his voice gets you, the track is pretty hard topic wise he speaking about how when he in this rap game he executing his competition.

Relentlezz Dre on this track “MD DA & VA” this one got a real simple beat, but its gutter, this is some real block we don’t play on this turf type of shit, real hard. Dre coming hard on this track, he spitting that block shit, letting you know he a monster when it comes to running in these streets, they don’t play you get rolled up real quick, nice ass track right here. Styles From The Under is on the next track “Diamond In The Rough” and the hook is some girl blowing real nice, smooth female vocals that gives the track a real street struggle feel. The raps on this track aight, the first rapper just sounds so damn plain, he needs more emphasis in his voice, the other guy in the group got that up north flow he is the highlight of the track.

The Royal Family And Mafia Twinz on the next track “War” beat is pretty simple, real mobby, should be more hype for a track called war. The flows on this track are pretty tight, some young cat come in and bust a nice little verse but everyone on the track shining pretty well, it grows as you start bumping in, basically a track about going to war, us versus you lets see who going to be on top of this shit after its all said and done. “You Want None” is a track done by The Regime, Stone, Diablo, And Poppa LQ, beat on this one is tight, very ear catching. The flows on this one are nice, they all coming in unison and spitting pretty hard. They basically spitting about how you don’t want none, they taking over, just some off the muscle we coming type of shit, the hook has a singy rap harmonize feel the shit coming out real clean.

Byno Buck On ”It Aint A Game” has that mobby feel on the baseline like a lot of the beats, real chill and grimey. Byno got that same sort of flow punchline like but not enough emphasis in his delivery, what he talking about is clean but with some more emaphsis this track would have been a lot tighter, this is a real street hustler type of track, DC streets shit. A female named Ruin spitting on the track “Let Me Find Out” and she coming pretty hard, her flow is well put together she on that east coast type of flow, she got talent she got that real gangsta flow like vita but a bit harder, she basically talking about if you going to talk shit, want to battle? Just let her find out and we can handle it, she aint bout no weak shit shes a gangsta bitch.

The production done by Timmy Fingerz, Big Poppa Nard, Juan Donavon, Jamal, City Vise, Sage, Mike Cross, Mikestiff, Kevin, Keith, 7 Figgaz, Ron, was real rough at times, it had its moments but a lot of the beats needed more or just weren’t appealing enough in the first place. The majority of the rappers on here have what most people would consider an east coast flow, real lyrical punchline and on that street flavor. Some of the rappers on here you hate to say it but they just don’t have it, when they come on rapping on some tracks it makes you want to just press next track. While others on here just need work, the flows sometimes sound amateur and not emphasized enough, need to get their flow more set in stone. Royal Family, Mafia Twinz, Slyck, Relentlezz Dre, Ruin, are some of the more standout artists on this comp who really seem to have their stuff more together than some of the other artists. DC sound is really new to most people, its got some mixed flavors if you ever go to DC then you will know they accept all types of music, they got people who bump south, some bump east, some people even be on the go go. Overall this compilation is not something that is flat out terrible its more like a car you want to make go faster, you got to tweak and tweak that car till it gets faster that’s all, some of these artists need some tweaking and improvements, its raw talent that needs to be molded.
